Phone It Forward Campaign
Abusers will often time destroy a victim’s phone or track its whereabouts as an act of power and control, and to further isolate the victim. The Family Justice Center has partnered with the 911 Cell Phone Bank to be able to provide victims of domestic violence a phone, so that they can call 911 in case of an emergency, keep in touch with their support networks, and make necessary appointments for services.
To continue the success of this program, the 911 Cell Phone Bank relies on old and used cell phone donations from the community to be able to provide these phones. If you have any cell phones (both smart phones and flip phones) and chargers to donate, please drop them off at the Montgomery County Family Justice Center, located at 600 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 500 in Rockville. Donations are accepted between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
